From 2014 to 2021, I served as the design director of 1More Acoustics, leading the brand’s design vision and leading the team. I drove impactful design advancements for the 1More brand, working with industry giants such as Xiaomi, Huawei, and OPPO to deliver groundbreaking acoustic product designs.

Xiaomi Piston 3
The Xiaomi Piston 3 earphones went through many rounds of exploration, from early sketches and form studies to ear-fit testing, acoustic chamber development, production refinement, and final packaging presentation. Each step helped balance comfort, sound performance, visual identity, and manufacturability. The final product turned the design process into a complete consumer audio experience and won the Red Dot Design Award.
小米 Piston 3 耳机经历了多轮设计探索,从早期草图、造型推敲,到耳朵佩戴测试、音腔结构开发、量产细节调整,以及最终包装呈现。每一步都是为了平衡佩戴舒适性、声音表现、视觉识别和量产可行性。最终产品把完整的设计过程转化成一个成熟的消费音频体验,并获得红点设计奖。

1More TWS ANC
I led the design direction for 1MORE’s first TWS ANC earphones, with a focus on fit, recognition, and noise isolation in a compact form. Since this product was aimed more toward male users, we wanted the design to feel more technical, stable, and performance-driven. One key challenge was the ear support: it needed to improve fit, avoid existing patent limitations, and become a distinctive visual feature. Through sketches, user fit testing, mockups, and prototype refinement, we developed a circular ear support as the main functional and visual element. The carbon-fiber texture and rounded metal charging case reinforced a more premium, masculine identity. The final design won an iF Design Award.
我主导了 1MORE 首款 TWS ANC 降噪耳机的设计方向,重点是在小型化产品中平衡佩戴稳定性、产品识别度和降噪体验。由于这款产品更偏向男性用户,我们希望设计呈现出更科技、更稳定、更强调性能感的气质。项目的关键挑战之一是耳撑结构:它需要提升佩戴稳定性,同时避开既有专利限制,并成为产品有辨识度的视觉特征。经过草图探索、用户佩戴测试、mockup 制作和样机调整,我们最终发展出圆形耳撑,作为主要的功能与视觉元素。碳纤维质感与圆润金属充电盒,也强化了产品更高端、更偏男性化的识别。最终设计获得 iF 设计奖。

Xiaomi Piston Air
The Xiaomi Piston Air earphones were designed around my idea of “Visible Acoustics” and all-day comfort. I created the concept, sketches, and form direction to make the earphones smaller, softer, and easier to wear deeply inside the ear, even during long use or while resting. The fully soft silicone exterior reduces pressure against the ear, while the translucent body reveals the internal acoustic chamber and gives the product a light, air-cushion-like feeling. The result is a more comfortable and visually distinctive earphone design that makes both fit and sound quality easier to understand. The final product won an iF Design Award.
小米 Piston Air 耳机是我围绕 “Visible Acoustics” 和长时间佩戴舒适性设计的作品。我从概念、手绘到造型方向,都是希望让耳机更小、更柔软,也更容易深入放进耳朵里,即使长时间使用或休息时也不会有明显压迫感。全软性的硅胶外部减少了耳朵受压,半透明机身则让内部音腔结构可以被看见,同时带出一种轻盈、像气垫一样的感受。最终产品形成了更舒适、更有识别度的耳机设计,也让佩戴和音质变得更容易被用户理解,并获得 iF 设计奖。

1More Spearhead Headphone
As 1MORE’s first gaming headset, Spearhead was designed to help the brand enter a new product category with a strong and memorable identity. Inspired by the visual language of Star Wars and the idea of a lightsaber, I turned the microphone — a key feature for team communication — into the main design moment. When pulled out, the microphone extends and lights up like a light blade; when not in use, it retracts back into the headset. Combined with the simple circle-and-line graphic on the earcup, this interaction gave the product a futuristic gaming character while making the headset immediately recognizable.
作为 1MORE 第一款电竞耳机,Spearhead 的设计目标是帮助品牌进入一个新的产品品类,并建立强烈、容易被记住的产品识别。我的灵感来自 Star Wars 和光剑的视觉语言,把电竞玩家与队友沟通最重要的麦克风,转化成整个产品的设计记忆点。麦克风拉出时会像光剑一样伸出并发光,不使用时则收回耳机内部。结合耳罩上简单的圆形与斜线图形,这个互动让产品形成更未来感的电竞气质,也让耳机在视觉上更容易被识别。

1More Packaging Design
I proposed using the “1” from 1MORE as the core visual element for the packaging system, turning a simple number into a distinct brand identity. My idea was that the user experience starts the moment people see the product on the shelf. The large “1” graphic attracts attention from a distance, then reveals the 1MORE brand, product image, color system, and key information up close. This created a flexible packaging identity that could extend across different product lines and build stronger retail recognition.
我提出以 1MORE 中的 “1” 作为包装系统的核心视觉元素,把一个简单的数字转化成清晰的品牌识别。我的想法是,用户体验从人们在货架上看到产品的那一刻就已经开始了。大面积的 “1” 图形可以在远距离先吸引注意,近看时再呈现 1MORE 品牌、产品图像、颜色系统和关键信息。这个系统建立了一个可以延展到不同产品线的包装识别,也让品牌在零售环境中更容易被记住。
我提出以 1MORE 中的 “1” 作为包装系统的核心视觉元素,把一个简单的数字转化成清晰的品牌识别。我的想法是,用户体验从人们在货架上看到产品的那一刻就已经开始了。大面积的 “1” 图形可以在远距离先吸引注意,近看时再呈现 1MORE 品牌、产品图像、颜色系统和关键信息。这个系统建立了一个可以延展到不同产品线的包装识别,也让品牌在零售环境中更容易被记住。


Mi Quad Driver In-Ear Headphones
For Xiaomi’s Quad-Driver In-Ear Headphones, we wanted to create a more premium earphone with stronger acoustic performance and a more flexible wearing experience. The design allows two ways of wearing: straight down for everyday use, or over the ear for a more secure fit during movement. We also explored ceramic as the housing material, inspired by its use in premium consumer products at the time, to give the earphones a more refined and distinctive feel. The compact form had to support the internal quad-driver acoustic structure, balancing sound technology, material quality, and wearing flexibility. The final design won an iF Design Award.
小米四单元圈铁耳机是一款更高阶的耳机产品,我们希望它有更强的声音表现,也有更灵活的佩戴体验。设计上提供两种佩戴方式:自然垂下适合日常使用,绕到耳后则能在移动时提供更稳定的佩戴。我们也尝试使用陶瓷作为耳机外壳材料,灵感来自当时高端消费产品中对陶瓷材质的运用,希望让耳机有更精致、更有差异化的质感。小体积结构需要容纳内部四单元声学系统,因此整个设计是在声音技术、材质表现和佩戴灵活性之间取得平衡。最终设计获得 iF 设计奖。

1More Spearhead Headphone II
The second version of the 1MORE Spearhead gaming headset was developed with a clearer cost target while keeping the visual identity of the original design. I kept the red light line as the key signature, so the product still felt connected to the first generation, but simplified the overall structure for better production efficiency. The larger over-ear cushions improved comfort for longer gaming sessions, while the black body and red lighting kept the headset recognizable, energetic, and aligned with the gaming category.
1MORE Spearhead 第二代电竞耳机是在更明确的成本目标下开发的,同时延续第一代的视觉识别。我保留了红色灯线作为核心记忆点,让产品仍然和第一代设计保持连续性,但整体结构做得更简洁,提升量产效率。更大的包耳式耳垫改善了长时间游戏时的舒适度,黑色机身与红色灯光则延续了电竞产品应有的识别度、能量感和品类属性。
1MORE Spearhead 第二代电竞耳机是在更明确的成本目标下开发的,同时延续第一代的视觉识别。我保留了红色灯线作为核心记忆点,让产品仍然和第一代设计保持连续性,但整体结构做得更简洁,提升量产效率。更大的包耳式耳垫改善了长时间游戏时的舒适度,黑色机身与红色灯光则延续了电竞产品应有的识别度、能量感和品类属性。


1More Spearhead BT
Spearhead BT was designed for young, heavy mobile gamers who needed longer play time than TWS earphones could provide. We chose a neckband structure to allow a larger battery and make the earphones easier to access during long gaming sessions — when not in use, they could simply rest around the neck instead of being put away. The battery and control modules were placed on opposite sides to balance weight and reduce pulling during wear. Semi-in-ear earbuds reduced ear pressure, while the black-and-red lighting details continued the Spearhead gaming identity in a lighter mobile format. The final product won Japan’s G-Mark Design Award.

Open Ear Headphone
Before open-ear headphones became popular, I explored this direction after looking at the limits of in-ear and bone-conduction products. In-ear headphones can be uncomfortable for long wear, while bone-conduction products often sacrifice sound quality and create vibration discomfort. I believed an open-ear structure could offer a better balance: keeping the ear open for awareness while placing the acoustic output close enough to improve sound. The main body and battery were positioned behind the ear to reduce visual bulk and improve wearing balance.
在开放式耳机流行之前,我就开始探索这个方向,因为我看到入耳式和骨传导产品都有明显限制。入耳式耳机长时间佩戴容易不舒服,而骨传导产品往往牺牲音质,也容易带来震动不适。我认为开放式结构可以提供更好的平衡:让耳朵保持开放,保留环境感知,同时把出音口尽量靠近耳朵来提升声音体验。主体和电池则放在耳后,以减少视觉负担并改善佩戴平衡。

Open Ear Headphone
This version explored a more professional and refined style for open-ear listening. The idea was to create an audio product for business users who need comfort, awareness, and better sound in daily commuting or work situations. Instead of looking like a sports device, the form uses a cleaner ear-hanging structure and a more subtle finish, making the product feel closer to a wearable business accessory. Although it remained a concept, it reflected my belief that open-ear audio would become an important direction before the market fully recognized it.
这个版本探索的是更偏商务、更精致的开放式聆听产品。我的想法是为商务用户创造一种在通勤和工作场景中都能兼顾舒适、环境感知和声音体验的耳机。它不像运动耳机那样强调运动感,而是采用更干净的耳挂结构和更克制的表面处理,让产品更像一个可以日常佩戴的商务配件。虽然它最后停留在概念阶段,但它代表了我在市场真正成熟之前,就已经判断开放式耳机会成为重要方向。
这个版本探索的是更偏商务、更精致的开放式聆听产品。我的想法是为商务用户创造一种在通勤和工作场景中都能兼顾舒适、环境感知和声音体验的耳机。它不像运动耳机那样强调运动感,而是采用更干净的耳挂结构和更克制的表面处理,让产品更像一个可以日常佩戴的商务配件。虽然它最后停留在概念阶段,但它代表了我在市场真正成熟之前,就已经判断开放式耳机会成为重要方向。


Xiaomi Over-Ear Headphone
For Xiaomi’s first over-ear headphones, we wanted to extend the design language of the original Piston earphones into a larger audio product. The metal construction, clean geometry, and semi-open acoustic grille continued the idea of “Visible Acoustics,” allowing the sound structure to be visually suggested rather than hidden. The design kept Xiaomi’s simple and refined product character while giving the headphones a more premium, precise, and crafted feel. The final product won the Gold Award at China Good Design.
作为小米第一款头戴式耳机,我们希望把初代 Piston 入耳式耳机的设计语言延伸到更大的音频产品上。金属结构、简洁的几何造型,以及半开放的声学网罩,都延续了 “Visible Acoustics” 的概念,让声音结构不再完全被隐藏,而是可以被视觉感受到。整体设计保持了小米简洁、克制的产品气质,同时让耳机呈现出更高端、更精密、更有工艺感的形象。最终产品获得中国好设计金奖。

1MORE Headphon Series
For this 1MORE headphone, I used the idea of “Visible Acoustics” to make the sound structure part of the visual identity. Instead of hiding the acoustic opening behind small perforations, I designed a larger rim-inspired grille that reveals the speaker structure inside, similar to how a wheel rim exposes the brake system. The open structure makes the sound output feel more powerful and understandable, while the full metal CNC construction gives the product a precise and premium character.
这款 1MORE 自有品牌耳机,是我用 “Visible Acoustics” 理念设计的代表作品之一。我没有把出音孔藏在传统的小孔里面,而是把开孔设计成更大的轮毂式结构,让用户可以看到里面的喇叭结构,就像汽车轮毂可以看到里面的刹车系统一样。这个开放式结构让声音输出看起来更有力量,也更容易被理解;全金属 CNC 结构则让产品呈现出更精密、更高端的质感。
这款 1MORE 自有品牌耳机,是我用 “Visible Acoustics” 理念设计的代表作品之一。我没有把出音孔藏在传统的小孔里面,而是把开孔设计成更大的轮毂式结构,让用户可以看到里面的喇叭结构,就像汽车轮毂可以看到里面的刹车系统一样。这个开放式结构让声音输出看起来更有力量,也更容易被理解;全金属 CNC 结构则让产品呈现出更精密、更高端的质感。


Scrolling Headphone Concept
For this headphone concept, I explored a new control method inspired by the familiar mouse wheel. Instead of using multiple small buttons, the wheel could scroll to adjust volume or switch tracks, and press to confirm an action. This made one-handed blind control more intuitive, reduced the chance of misclicks, and turned the control detail into a recognizable design feature for the headphone.
这个耳机概念里,我尝试把大家熟悉的鼠标滚轮操作方式转化到耳机上。相比使用多个小按键,滚轮可以上下滑动来调节音量或切换歌曲,也可以按压确认操作。这样的设计让单手盲操更直觉,减少误触机会,同时也把操作细节变成耳机本身有识别度的设计特征。
这个耳机概念里,我尝试把大家熟悉的鼠标滚轮操作方式转化到耳机上。相比使用多个小按键,滚轮可以上下滑动来调节音量或切换歌曲,也可以按压确认操作。这样的设计让单手盲操更直觉,减少误触机会,同时也把操作细节变成耳机本身有识别度的设计特征。


Xiaomi Piston 3 Earphone
This final design of the Xiaomi Piston 3 shows the balance between comfort and precision. The parts that touch the ear are kept soft, rounded, and compact for a more comfortable fit, while the rear metal housing uses sharper lines and a more solid form to create contrast. This mix of soft contact surfaces, precise metal details, and a simple three-button cylindrical remote helped make the product feel refined, comfortable, and easy to use. The final design won a Red Dot Design Award.

1MORE Dual Driver ANC
This 1MORE neckband earphone continued the brand’s “Visible Acoustics” design language in a cleaner, more minimal form. The CNC metal housings gave the product a precise and premium feel, while the red acoustic details and semi-translucent ear tips subtly revealed the sound path and created a small visual focus. The overall design stayed simple and refined, but still carried the acoustic identity that connected it to the broader 1MORE product family. The final design won a Red Dot Design Award.

Comfert Earphone
This wired earphone was designed around comfort and a natural fit. The triangular body follows the natural geometry of the outer ear, allowing it to sit securely without going deep into the ear canal, while the cable exits along the ear’s natural groove for a cleaner and more comfortable wearing experience. A soft, semi-transparent silicone cover gives the product a skin-friendly touch and subtly reveals the inner structure. The larger acoustic opening also connects back to the idea of “Visible Acoustics,” making the sound path easier to see and understand.
这款有线耳机的设计重点是舒适和自然贴合。三角形机身顺着外耳的自然形态设计,让耳机可以稳固地放在耳朵里,但不需要深入耳道;线材也沿着耳朵本身的沟槽方向引出,让佩戴更干净、更舒适。外层柔软的半透明硅胶带来亲肤触感,同时也让内部结构若隐若现。较大的出音口也延续了「看得见的声学」理念,让声音路径变得更容易被看见和理解。

Outdoor Speaker Concept
This speaker concept was inspired by natural cellular patterns, rethinking the traditional grille design used in most speakers. Instead of using fabric mesh or simple perforations, I explored a 3D-printed irregular structure to create a more distinctive visual identity while also improving structural strength. The layered form was intended to interact with sound in a more diffused way, while giving the product a softer, more natural character that feels closer to forms found in nature.
这款音箱概念的灵感来自自然中的细胞纹理,重新思考了大多数音箱常见的出音网格设计。不同于传统的网布或平面打孔方式,我尝试用 3D 打印的不规则结构来创造更强的产品识别,同时提升结构本身的强度。这个具有层次感的造型,也是在探索一种更分散的声音扩散方式,并让产品呈现出更柔和、更接近自然形态的气质。

3.5 lightning connector
This compact audio controller explored how a small connector accessory could feel more refined and easier to use. The design combines Lightning and 3.5mm audio connectivity with side controls in a compact metal housing. I kept the form simple and precise, using a soft rectangular body, clear button placement, and a premium metal finish to make a small functional accessory feel more intentional and product-like.
这个小型音频控制器设计,探索的是如何让一个连接配件变得更精致、更容易使用。设计结合了 Lightning 与 3.5mm 音频连接,并在侧面加入控制按键,整体收进一个紧凑的金属外壳中。我把造型控制得简单、精密,通过圆角矩形体块、清楚的按键位置和金属质感,让一个小功能配件看起来更完整、更像一个正式产品。

Jay Chou x 1MORE Brand Campaign
I designed several 1MORE headphones for the product line associated with Jay Chou, one of Asia’s most influential pop musicians. These products needed to feel more than technical — they had to carry a clear style, strong identity, and broad consumer appeal. My work focused on turning 1MORE’s acoustic technology into headphones that felt recognizable, refined, and connected to a lifestyle audience.

1MORE X Luxtrada Fantasy Headphone
This project was a brand collaboration between 1MORE, Luxtrada, and Swarovski, created to bring 1MORE into a more fashion-driven audience. I led the collaboration discussions with partners in Hong Kong and at Swarovski’s U.S. headquarters, then designed a crystal version of the headphones using 1MORE’s existing product base and Swarovski crystal elements. The result became a strong marketing piece for the brand, attracting attention from fashion media, celebrities, and lifestyle consumers, and won an IDA Design Award.
