Design Award: Reddot or iF? Which one to Choose?

Which on th choose? Reddot or iF award
Reddot or iF Award?

Choosing between the Reddot and the iF awards for design competition?

This is a dilemma that many designers inevitably face. One of these awards might shape your future path in design, and the key to making the right choice may lie in the creative work you currently hold.

From my experience with applying to both, I've outlined six straightforward questions to help you assess which award might better suit your design.

  1. Does your design emphasize outstanding craftsmanship and high-quality material use?

  2. Is your product ready or about to enter the market with a clearly defined target audience?

  3. Does your design primarily address practicality and functionality?

  4. Does your design include unique, innovative elements, such as new technologies or methods?

  5. Does your design consider social and environmental impacts, promoting sustainable development?

  6. Does your design seek aesthetic breakthroughs, achieving harmony between form and function?

Evaluate these questions yourself. If your answers lean more toward the earlier questions, your work may be more suited for the Red Dot Award. If they tend toward the latter, the iF award might be a better fit.

And if you can confidently answer all these questions perfectly, congratulations! Why not apply for both awards?

Now, I'm curious about your results. Which award does your assessment lean towards? Please share your results in the comments section.

And don't forget to share this with anyone who might find it useful to test their own designs!

Good Luck and Winning!!
